Science distillation experiment

  Distillation is the scientific experiment used to show to process of condensation.

Aim: To separate a solute from a solvent in a solution using distillation.

Equipment: A solution of saltwater, Conical flask, heatproof mat, a delivery tube and bung, Bunsen burner, Tripod, gauze mat, retort sand, boss head and clamp, a boiling tube and Cola

Method:
1. set up the equipment as shown in the diagram
2. add approximately 50mL of saltwater to your conical flask
3. Light your Bunsen burner. Open the air hole an gently push the Bunsen burner under the tripod.
4. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated. Turn off your Bunsen burner.

Showing Empathy

Empathy Is the ability be nice and to share emotions and to show feelings empathetic is really nice to be if someone is crying if you came up to them and showed them support and told them everything would be alright then that is empathetic .


We watched a video which was a Thai ad about a man who every day did good e gave money to homeless people he let people sit on the bus and he had to stand he gave an old lady bananas he helped a lady move her cart so she could sell her food

Vietnam war

Vietnam war  The Vietnam war begun in 1960 and ended in 1975. The war was in the southern and northern Vietnam it was a terrible war with millions dying both american and Vietnamese. For a long time the Vietnamese war was the longest U.S serving war until the Afghanistan war 2002-2014. Around 500 000 of the 3 million troops who served in the Vietnam suffered from post traumatic stress. As most people may know the Vietnam people had won the Vietnam But that did not come without casualties around 365 000 Vietnamese civilians died in the war.




In 1978 an estimated 1,353 000 Vietnamese people died in south and north Vietnam as a result of the Vietnam war. In 1995 The Vietnamese government released there estimates on the the deaths during the war. The government thinks that 1.1 million Vietnamese people died as a result of the war  on both sides the total is 2 million. which can include soldiers in Laos and Cambodia. Some 1.2 million civilians had to relocated and during that period of time 1500 people died as well as 500 prisoners passed away due to illness.


 according a statement by the Vietnamese government 42 000 Vietnamese civilians dies due to the U.S dropping bombs throughout the the 15 year Vietnam war  

Zombies rules and how to survive the apocalypse

What it means to be a bully

Bullying is not a nice thing to do however there are some people that do not know what bullying is so WHAT IS BULLYING ?? Bullying is deliberate so the bully is being mean on purpose and wants you to be hurt. Its repetitive It happens more then one time. It has a imbalance of power one person will always be the clear winner and most of the time it will be the bully who is the clear winner. Its unkind and not something you should ever associate yourself in some cases the victim has taken there on life.

what are your roles and responsibilities as a friend

When would someone use peer pressure?- When they tell you to do something you do not want to do

Why would they use peer pressure?- Because they want you to be like them or even                worse!

Example-

If someone offers you a drug or dares you to do something naughty- illegal just say" i am fine" walk away and don't hangout with them again and say i think i am good with the responsible friends i have.. the reason you need to walk away is because they could convince you or threaten you to do the thing that they are telling you to do and also the right thing to do is the best thing and if you chose the bad thing it will stick with you for life and when you are older you will regret doing it.

What is peer pressure?-

Peer pressure is when someone tells you to do something that you know isn't right or forces you to do the thing that they say and that could be to.. hurt someone, Take illegal substances, Rob something or even something like saying something mean to someone else

The filtration Experiment

Today we are going to do a filtration experiment

Aim: To Separate a solution from a precipitate (precipitate is the name for a solid that forms in a liquid during a chemical reaction).

Hypothesis: what do you think will happen... the water will be a different colour

Method: 

1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.

2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate. 

3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel

4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask. 

5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel. 

6. Observe what happened.

I did baseball for P.E and enjoyed it ery much but mr did not explain the rules very good

online relationships are not as important as real life relationships

with an online relationship you can not see them in real life you can only text or Skype them. But with a real life relationship you can actually go on a date with them. With an online  relationship though you could be with them for longer . And you can just stay in one place instead of having to go everywhere. Another bonus of being in a online relationship is that if someone breaks up with you you would not be as sad or depressed However being in a real life relationship  you like its more important. And being on a online relationship you could be cat fished.Real life relationships could be worse like you boyfriend or girlfriend could be abusive or not give you all the right that you deserve to have.

Health refection

This a health refection on what we have done already this term we played the games that we organised last week  we bounced  ping pong balls into some plastic cups in our groups. Then we played a game with string and cups where we had to stack them using the string and rubber bands. And then we played a game where we had a ping pong and make bridge with paper and we had to get the paper into a cup. 




When we had to choose the games that we were going to play we also played a game you had to throw a water balloon to a partner and you could not drop the balloon 9

Manage Stress when you're more stressed you get sick more due to a worse immune system. 

exercise a lot so you can more fit and healthy.  

do not smoke smoking is making you less likely to live older  

do not do hard drugs such as weed pi cocaine  

Do not drink to much as this can be one of the worst things to do as this shortens your life span 

Think young really think young If you think at least actually had lower death rate than people that felt the age they really are 

 have good foods Mediterranean diet has been shown extend your life. 


Be a student for life do not fall into that trap as you grow older 


Keep close friends being lonely 


get enough sleep humans can go longer without sleep than food other adults need just as much sleep as younger people adults need 7-9 hours of sleep per night but they often get much less lack of sleep can lead to depression memory problems

Also emotions can play an important role in how we think and behave every day they can also compel us to take action and influence the choices we make about our lives both big and small. Also Life is defined by as any system of anything we are capable of doing on a everyday such as eating drinking talking etc. Some people also think that what make us human is our heart not our mind and our ability to love can also make us human It make us what we are. There are also people that think that what we have make us human that animals do not get such as Education our houses what luxury items that you have like your beds. your clothes and your jobs as well.
